World’s Ugliest Car?12 Comment

eBay, For Sale, One-offs | Thu, 04 May 2006 Posted by :

See, this is why people who can’t draw or sculpt shouldn’t make cars. I hate to slag something that someone has obviously put a ton of effort into, but all I can think when I see this is “world’s ugliest 80s Camaro — someone call Guiness!”. If you disagree with me, it’s on eBay as item #4636844659… so far, zero bids with five days to go. It’s basically a sloppy set of flat fiberglass panels put over a 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS chassis. Personally I think they’re insane with a starting bid of $2500.

Jeez, I feel so guilty now having written all that.

I like it, interesting and unusual, like japaneese paper sculptures. cool thing

i think this car is exactly as it s suppossed to be: its a rendering of a car for mr roboto. it has perfect dimensions. the right detailing.(look at the rear bumper, setting of lights) this is a piece of art.

can you say back to the future 2

If you get close to the car and listen carefully you will heard it saying… kill me, kill me!

that was a Chevy Chevelle SS ? i think it should be illegal to do that to a nice car. seriously couldn’t they have built it on like a doge diplomat or something?

I swear I this car in the music video for Styx’s “Mr. Roboto”

  9. It looks very much like a 1982 Commodore 64 “rendering”. Also the game would have some crappy title like “Speed Tires” or “Smoking Rubber Flame” or, my favorite, “Epyx Presents: Polyhedral Racer Z Turbo”. Also I wouldn’t trade a slightly used tissue for it.

  10. [...] I suppose continuing in the contest of who can try and sell the ugliest homemade supercar on eBay, let me present to you “The Heidelberg“, said to be a side project of a now liquidated aerospace company running a Porsche 911/915 driveline on a custom chassis which was auctioning (item #4647720544) for an asking price of $50,000 including “$1.5 million of tooling”. It received zero bids. Can you imagine having spent $1.5 million+ on this? Talk about a white whale. [...]

  11. Oh, that’s brilliant! It’s like a normal car, but with less polygons. As an oldschool computer nerd, that’s one of the funniest things I’ve heard all day!

It is still better looking than a Honda Element or any of the Scions. It looks like it came out of an old video game.
