Fancy Warp 8 ' Turning up Again ' I have wondered for years what had happened to it . I was at the school on teaching practice with Owen when he made the 2 Warp 8s. Anyone know where he is now ?? Seem to remember the other chap was called Trevor. I was there the day he bent up a complex curve piece of tubing that was to fit inside ..... just guessing it as he tweaked it . ...offered it up inside and it fitted perfectly . Also remember the tyres going on the modified rims ( slit in two and a large middle section welded in . do I remember right .. 14 " wide ?? on the rear . slicks initially i think from. There was a 1/12 model made first and the sections for the plug taken from that . I wonder where the model is . It was a very full back garden with the wooden plug , the mould and the two body shells ; it looked like four cars crammed in the back yard.

Dave you are spot on. The other car featured here in the green colour was painted bronze with differant colour strips on it a few years after magazine feature, ours was never put on the road, so it is the other one you've seen. If you can get hold of the June issue of Complete Kit Car magazine you will see the other one in the colour the last time you saw it, it may bring back some memorys.

Mark,
I remember seeing a vehicle that looked like a Warp 8 regularly parked up near Whipps Cross Hospital East London, more of a Bronze metallic colour than Orange if memory serves. Didn't know what it was until it appeared on Magpie. I'm sure it was the same car. Anyway its great that it still exists after all this time. Do you think the Vector W2 bears a passing resemblance?

This thing is awesome!! Looks like the lovechild of an Aztec7 and a Brubaker Box. Why don't more manufacturers make wild original designs like this any more? Apparently most kit builders think we need more Cobra replicas.

WHEN WE FINISH RESTORING THE OTHER WARP, THE ORANGE ONE. WE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT TAKING A MOULD OF IT, AND MAKE A LIMITED AMOUNT OF THEM. WE WILL BE RESTORING IT BACK TO AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE, THE ONLY MODS WILL BE FOR SAFETY REASONS AND AS YOU WILL SEE IN PICTURES TO GAIN ACCESS TO ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION.BECAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS THE ONLY SERVIVING EXAMPLE WE WOULD HAVE TO MAINTAIN AS MUCH OF ORIGINAL LOOK AS POSSIBLE. IF WE WHERE TO TAKE A MOULD OFF IT WE WOULD PROBABLEY ALTER THE BODY A LITTLE TO BRING IT MORE UP TO DATE. IF THERE WAS ENOUGH INTEREST WE WOULD ASK PEOPLE IF THEY PREFERRED OLD SCHOOL LOOK OR UPDATED VERSION? AND MAKE THEM TO ORDER.
