This is just a small sample of the new paint that is being applied to the vw kit cars project. We will have some full body images for you in the coming days. What do you think about it?

This kit car build is all over the place. Today we got the body primed. There is still some more prep work that needs to be done but it is coming along nice. As some of the readers already know the final color will be GM synergy Green. This is the same green that is on the 2010-2011 Camaro. If all goes well the car should be painted by Tuesday and I can start assembly.

Rick sent us a photo of this great poster he acquired during his time working as a Sales Rep for Elite Enterprises in the late 1970s . It shows all of the kits they were producing back then. Its a great piece of history and I would love to find one of my own personal collection.
Thanks again for sending this in.

I removed the old rotted floor pans and have the new ones in place and ready to be tack welded in. The job was pretty simple and did not require to much work. I used an air grinder and air hammer to get them out.

Well it looks like I need to get a new set of pans. When I purchased the vw kit car we looked under the car at dusk and they appeared to be pretty solid. The right side has had me curious as it was full of a tar of some kind. Well today I got to removing the tar and found a layer of fiberglass mat underneath. So I will have to get a set of pans ordered and get them installed while the body is being painted.
Here are a few photos of the carnage….ENJOY!
