I usually like to keep things on the automotive side here but this is something I really feel I need to share. On june 10th 2014 armed with $20 I joined a program with over 50,000 members. The idea was simple Using major companies like eBay and Amazon you could make money. This was not some get rich quick thing, not affiliate marketing, or MLM. At its basic form it is a set of training videos.
I went into these training videos with no expectations and fully expected just to cancel my membership pretty fast. As I started getting into it I was blown away at how easy everything in the videos was. So about 2 days later I started using what I learned and since then (and little under a month) I have made over 50 sales on eBay. The end result is over $6000 in sales, using other peoples money. Not bad if I do say so myself.
Im not going to bore you with specifics, or anything like that. I will just attach a few screenshots of my paypal account over the past two weeks for you to see. That should pretty much give you an idea that it can and does work. Of course these results are mine alone, and you could have better, the same, or not as good. But think of it this way. $20 is what it costs. You most likely spend more then that eating fast food, getting coffee, or whatever.

Happy 4th of July!

As some of you may know I run an Oval Track. We do stock car racing, drifting, autocross. In addition we have a 2 drag strips. Anything with a motor is pretty cool in my book. Something I have been pretty vocal about over the past few years is Drifting. Several of my friends have gone on to compete in a pro level in the years I have been involved.
This weekend formula drift is in Miami. These events usually have crowds of 10-20,000 people in attendance. Drivers are sponsored by Ford, Nissan, Chevy, Toyota, and just about every tire manufacturer out there. This is a pretty big deal. Live stream for this event starts at 12:30 etc and if you have a few minutes you can watch it here. www.formulad.com/live

I have posted a few things that are slightly different than what POHT traditionally has written about it. I might do a bio about myself in the next few weeks, but for now I am off for the 14 consecutive year to one of my cool gigs. I am loading up the car, and trekking to the Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals. Those 14 years have seen me serve as head judge for Carlisle’s Standard f Excellence competition. This is an event where a team of 3 judges take a look at cars that owners have elected to see if they meet a, well, Standard of Excellence. It is normally a progressive completion where competitors will enter three or four years to achieve the prized 5 Commendations. If you are going to be there check out the Judging Saturday by the main grandstand, or better yet enter and see how you do. I have seen some excellent kits over the years from an exacting Diablo replica, to a wide body 356 on a Porsche pan and an airplane motor.
Now that I have done a shameless plug it’s your turn. While in Carlisle this weekend I would love to meet some of you. If you have a car there I would love to see it. I am going try and assemble a series of articles that I will publish on this great site over the next few months. It is your chance for a few of your 15 minutes of fame! Friday I will be wondering the grounds sporting one of my new Price of His Toys polo shirts. Saturday you will find me judging by the grandstand. If you see me stop me. If you want to drop me an email so we are sure to catch each other on the grounds or downtown firstname.lastname@example.org will find me.

So part of my day job causes me to travel some. This weekend I needed to go to the Charlotte AutoFair to do some research for a possible 2015 event here at work. While there I figured let’s see what else I could find. I knew there would be nice Vintage auto, this being an AACA event. There of course were hundreds of Mustang and Ford venders, great for you Factory Five guys. GM had a great presence. There were a surprising number of VW vendors however. pans , motors, transmissions, cars, titles. Then among the rows and rows of cars (The pedometer recorded 16 miles on Friday) were a nice selection of kit cars. A few Dune Buggies, Superlite Cars was there with a massive display of SL-Cs, a few Cobra guys, and an interesting Sebring 3000. The Sebring had more gauges under the hood than the last cockpit is was in. They Must do Something, but the price wasn’t bad, provided it didn’t need a complete rebuild. I am posting this here jst to remind Priceofhistoys readers that our kits can be found everywhere, and when looking in the unexpected cases (ie AACA swap meets) a few good deals might be had.

Be sure to check out our eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com/kitcarguy . I am going through my collection and weeding out things I no longer need to make room for stuff I want. I have reproduction fiberfab emblems, bradley emblems, kit car magazines and more. Anything you purchase also helps keep the website up and running. If you see anything you like purchase it. If you are looking for something send me a message and I will see if I have it.

So you ever browse listings to find things that you just cant help but wonder what the seller is thinking? I was doing just that today and came up with a list of some of my favorites. Sorry if any of you sellers read this website, but these are all worth taking the time to call you out on .
Fiberfab Banshee Body http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/cto/4336266460.html
This seller seems to think his/her banshee body and nose is worth $4500 . They are so convinced they did not even upload a photo and have made the price FIRM! “RARE” kit car tax at its finest. back in 2008 we posted one that was going for $1000 OBO.
Fiberfab Valkyrie http://springfield.craigslist.org/cto/4303989423.html
Upside is it does have a chevy 327, downside is …well everything else. Ok I get it. its a good starting point. But thats about all. At $5750 I can think of several other cars I would rather own.
Fiberfab Avenger http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/4340068383.html
If the 327 above does not tickle your fancy maybe you have $7850 laying around and you would like Vtec power instead. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done on this one, and just a quick read through and its apparent this seller thinks he will get back out what he put into it. Good luck with that one.
Let us know if you have seen any cars out there that have really inflated prices. We would love to post them.

After giving it some careful thought I have decided we need to bring on a few more content writers to the website. Paul and myself can only do so much. Here is a basic rundown of what I am looking for.
- Must have a passion for kit cars.
- Have 2-3 hours per month to upload photos, and post new content, items you find for sale, etc.
- Be able to present both the good and bad of a particular car. We do not sugar coat things here. If we think it stinks, the price is two high, etc we say it.
- Experience with wordpress is helpful, but not needed.
- Most important is to have a vast knowledge of kit cars.
In addition new categories will be added to make the website a bit more diverse. Coverage from local florida cars shows, events, and more will be coming in the near future as well as a new look . If you feel you would make a great part of the team feel free to use the contact form and email me with your relative experience.
This is not a paid gig.
