Whats with the ridiculous Ferrari kit cars today?0 Comment

What is it? | Thu, 24 Apr 2014 Posted by :

Man what a great day to be looking for bad kit cars. As if the beautiful example of the Ferrari in our last post was not enough, I now get you with the 1 – 2 punch! Check out this gem. This one started life as a perfectly good Fiero GT by the looks of it then someone felt they needed a dino or whatever you would like to call that rear. I am beginning to think I am in the wrong business. Take a feiro, put a god awful body kit on it, and a $22,0000 BIN and BAM! Making that cash!

But seriously who out there would drive this? If someone on this website would drive it, please go away and do not come back hahahahah

On to the photos….

Sometimes you should leave the build to a pro……0 Comment

Man oh man. Sometimes you just have to say “What the hell are they thinking” This car has made its rounds for sometime and everytime I see it I cant help but cringe at the sight of it. To even use the Ferrari name in this is not only an insult to Ferrari, but to anyone who has a well build Ferrari kit car.

This is an example of a horrible kit car, on a horrible chassis and lets not forget about that HORRIBLE Asking price!

Wrong on so many levels…..UGH!

What happened to it? Mystery Reverse Trike2 Comment

Uncategorized, What is it? | Wed, 16 Oct 2013 Posted by :

Years ago while browsing ebay this interesting trike was for sale complete with the molds. I thought the design was very good, but obviously dated.  The trike appeared to be complete and “ready” to run, but I cannot recall the specifics of the auction, just that I saved the photos.

Years later I cant find any info on where it went, who originally build it, and what is going on with it today. Do any of you recall this one for sale or maybe have seen it ? Let me know if you have any info.

I know I know. This will not be everyone’s cup of tea. This is a 1 seat home built trike. Perfect for a trip around your neighborhood but I am not sure if you would want to take it much further. Estimated top speed is 30-35mph and runs on six 12 volt batteries. $2500 you can but it and finish it.

I am just copying the specs from the auction http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575009554&toolid=10001&campid=5337106048&customid=&icep_item=231062153021&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg

Safety Features:
Roll bar plus square steel tubing body frame
Shoulder/lap belt
Windshield is standard windshield ‘sandwich’ glass
Wide safety rear view mirror
Dual side mirrors
Curbside door only so the driver can’t get out into traffic
Tall for visibility in traffic
Painted ‘Safety Yellow’ color for visibility
Horn
All running lights are LEDs, except for the regular hi/low beam headlights
Brakes on all 3 wheels
Windshield wiper
Soft front bumper

What It Still Needs:
No wiring has been done yet.
The steering system needs work.
The braking system needs to be finished.
Tensioners must be added to the motor mount.
The rear fender must be attached.
Other miscellaneous small things need to be done.

Check out this great add from Bradford Motor Cars. One of our Russian readers Sergei emailed us this great brochure. They where a Ft Lauderdale company back in the early 1980s and it appears this is the only car they produced.

If anyone out there has any additional information let us know

Thanks Rick for the heads up.

I almost do not want to post this as I am sure the photos will blind some of you. What you are attempting to look at is, well I dont know what the hell it is! . The listing says it is a 1983 firebird with a custom body kit. It has a 305 with a automatic transmission and american racing rims.

This is by far one of, if not the worst attempt at a kit car ever! If you really have to have it it can be yours for $3500 OBO

Flatback on eBay0 Comment

I have always wanted one of these. I also think they are ugly. Does that make sense? The reserve has not been met on this one, but it looks like a good starting point. If the seller has not set his kit car tax very high it could be a good deal for someone. It is none running, but has a clean title and appears to be in pretty good cosmetic shape.

Is this is something you might be interested in here is the link for you to check it out.

Stratos Kitcar3 Comment

Uncategorized, What is it? | Tue, 07 Aug 2012 Posted by :

Brad sent in this photo of a kit car he owned in the Mid 1980s. He said it was called a Stratos and only 3 of them were produced. He believed it was built by a young guy who worked for Intermecanica at the time. That was all the info he provided along with this one photo.

What do you all think?

Check this cool little car out! I cant say I have ever seen one. It is described as a GSM Dart and comes with an RX8 engine. That is about all the eBay listing says. What do you guys/girls know about it?
